Staff Paper 26 presents the fourth survey of the “Monitoring the digitalisation of education from the students' perspective” and enables a comparison of the results since 2020 (see Staff Paper 22 and Staff Paper 24 and Staff Paper 25). Children and young people at compulsory school and upper secondary level were asked about the equipment and use of digital tools at school and at home.
In 2024, the use of AI tools in everyday school life was also recorded for the first time. These are the first representative results for Switzerland that show how widespread the use of such AI applications is among 8 to 18-year-olds.
The “Monitoring the digitalisation of education from the students' perspective” is funded by the Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK) and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) as part of Swiss education monitoring.
